Hello This mail really struck a chord. We find ourselves in these situations so often! Yes I have discovered that friends will often use us emotionally, specially ones who are self centered, insecure, dominating or just plain weak! I have met so many such people that I have decided it is better to have fewer friends and be alone if necessary. I firmly believe that you are your best friend! If you can learn to enjoy your own company then you will be stronger and will be able to deal with such people. Never let anyone use you. That leaves us with the important question of lonliness. How to deal with it? Keep yourself busy? Work out, read, go swimming, housework... Yes our friends can be selfish but then where does one go for companionship? I think we have to be firm in dealing with our friends, make them also listen to us once in a while instead of only listening to their endless complaints and whining. It is an effort but worth it in the end because really "no man is an island". Life is tough is'nt it? It seems every day you wake up and find out it got a little bit more tougher over the night!
