Re: [mylifeismine] Hello Newbie and All

St.John's Wort is good, non-toxic and non-addictive. I used it to get off Zoloft. Made the mistake of simply stopping taking Zoloft 'cause I didn't think it was helping. Didn't know it was a strong antidepressant and that it was addictive. Don't know why I was prescribed something strong.
I switched from Zoloft within one day to St. John's Wort then a couple of weeks on that and I was able to stop taking it without problems.
Since them I have found out how to be happy without drugs and will never need to go back to them.
It's not a good idea to mix medications because you don't know how they will interact.
I got a book on St. John's Wort so I could find out more about it. I let my doctor read it to see what he thought and as he didn't say it was a bad idea (he had no comment to make against me using it), I went ahead with taking St.John's Wort.

[mylifeismine] Hello Newbie and All

Hello Newbie (and All),

I joined about a day before you did. And even with my short membership if I may - welcome.

I think quite often it's when one can "tell it how it is" that one can open up to avenues for change.

And I am concluding myself (part of the reason I've joined this group) that there has been quite a lack of family and community and honest relating in my life, that perhaps no wonder I feel alienated at times. ?

Having said that though through my journey of (more concious) self development I found that there are people/wholistic professionals and tools that can help bridge the gap between being underexpressed to a more openly expressed (undepressed?)individual. I guess this is an aid to "being me" more fully in community.

Perhaps some of us can do with both most certainly. Especially as we catch up with and are supported to live out our truer nature in "community".

My goodness I am going on aren't I.

Anyhow... just thinking in terms of anxiety - there is a great homeopathic (totally natural i.e NO SIDE EFFECTS) called Organo Adreno Stress by Medicine Tree. It's the sort of thing that can create instant calm - worth a try. It is a practitioner brand so one may need to locate a wholistic practitioner who sells it, though... there may be a health food store that will order it in. ?

There's a couple of natural herbal remedies that aid in alleviating depression (again no side effects) one I'm pretty sure is called St John's Wort - though I think that one can only be used for periods at a time due to some reason or other - worth doing an internet search over these if interested I think.

All the best,
Rose
