"Life isn't meant to be easy", it's meant to be interesting. If you believe the first half by itself you are asking to have a hard life, and life isn't 'hard' but it is interesting.
Beware the way you think might force limits on you that you might not otherwsie want.
Another example is "we're here for a good time, not a long time" - believe this only if you want a short life.
Personally I'm here for a long time and I'm going to enjoy all of it! (its a work-in-progress (lol)).
